March 2013 Shriners Hospital Event

Anther fun event with Shriners Hospital.  We had past patients in the big Recreation room then went room to room with performances and gift for the patients that weren't up to coming to the big room.

We were also honored with the presentation of a check from two Heritage High School Seniors.  Matelynne Hendrickson and Samantha Ballard worked with their DECA teacher, Shawn Perez, and the DECA club to organize several fundraiser events throughout the year including a student store coin drive competition between Heritage and Mt. View High Schools, a Music minute fundraiser at a spirit assembly, and solicited donations from neighboring hospitals. They also had fundraising booths in both the Heritage High School and Sifton Elementary school holiday bazaars. through these efforts they were able to raise a total of $730.  We were honored by all of their work and support.

Southwest Washington Medical Center December 2012 event

We had the privilege of providing entertainment and gift and treats to some of the cancer patients that were undergoing chemotherapy treatment to help the time pass quicker for them.  We had a great time and I think that all of the patient really appreciated the event.

We made it into the news Paper!!!

On Monday morning The Columbian News Paper released an article on Owl Be Better With Music front page in their news paper's Life section and a  Multimedia Article on Owl Be Better With Music on their website. November Event! Shriners Hospital :)

It was a smaller event this month, seeing as it was two days after thanksgiving. As you can see we didn’t have many patients from the picture of the houses in the wagon. This last visit was as just as special; the children seemed to really enjoy the music experience. For some it was a better day for them. We will not be doing an event in December due to the holiday, but my family and I will be goi...ng and visiting a couple families there on Christmas day. January will be a big event! We are really looking forward to it and will be giving more information about it later!
